Jimi Matthews is an accomplished leader with a career spanning over two decades across commercial, legal, and third-sector environments. He began his professional journey in 2000 after graduating with a degree in Medieval History, entering the commercial world with a leading US brand. His passion for continuous learning led him to pursue a Law degree via distance learning, gaining a first.

Jimi’s early career saw him take on the role of Legal Compliance Director within a family-run business, where his strategic focus on business improvement and operational excellence contributed to the company winning 13 national awards for excellence over a 15-year period. His ability to align compliance with growth became a hallmark of his leadership style.

In 2021, Jimi transitioned into the 3rd sector, where he quickly made a significant impact – driving a 172.5% increase in revenue within just 3.5 years. His results-driven approach, combined with a deep understanding of governance and human development, positioned him as a transformative force in organisational leadership.

Jimi completed his ILM Level 5 training with Turning Factor in 2009 and joined the organisation in 2025 as Director of Governance & Progression. In this role, he leads with a strategic focus on embedding robust governance frameworks and driving meaningful progression across leadership, culture, and capability. His work bridges operational rigour with human-centred development, ensuring clients not only meet compliance and performance standards but evolve with purpose and resilience.

A certified Lean Six Sigma practitioner, Jimi specialises in aligning governance with growth. He works closely with senior leaders to cultivate environments where accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement thrive. Whether shaping policy, mentoring talent, or designing progression pathways, Jimi’s mission is to unlock potential at every level.
